Everyone in the town of Rancho del Cielo knows that when Miranda McTiernan and Josh Whittaker are in the same room, sparks are sure to strike. The two can't seem to stop arguing, nor can they stay away from one another. But after the tragic death of a friend, Miranda decides that now's the time to get what she's been longing for a baby. She wants Josh to be the father, but he's dead set against the idea. He also doesn't want any other man touching her either. The two are at an impasse until it becomes clear that a serial arsonist is in town and dead set on eliminating everyone and everything Josh loves. Now Josh is determined to protect Miranda at any cost, even if that means risking his well-guarded secrets and opening himself up to a relationship he's always wanted but would never let himself have.

Danger, stubbornness, love, and a longing all blend together for one heck of a read in Love Me Tomorrow. Dee Tenorio has created two characters that are absolutely perfect for one another, if only the hero would go for his destiny as he should. It takes a series of shocks to get Josh and Miranda together, but that's part of what made Love Me Tomorrow compelling. While Josh was stubborn in his refusal to enter into a relationship with Miranda, I never wanted to shake him over it, as I usually would with such a character. Ms. Tenorio didn't overplay his fears and I adored Josh so much for his protectiveness, honor, and the love he felt for those he let in his heart that I understood why Miranda could not help but wait for him to come around. However, don't think that Miranda just sits by the phone waiting for Josh to call. She's every bit an intelligent, independent woman. She knows what she wants, goes after it, and takes the consequences for her actions like an adult.

While each Rancho Del Cielo book stands on its own, supporting characters from the series add light to the story, including the hero and heroine of the third book, Burn for Me. In addition, the arsonist targeting Josh adds an element of peril to Love Me Tomorrow, keeping the story moving at a fast pace. I've come to expect solidly entertaining romances from Ms. Tenorio and Love Me Tomorrow doesn't disappoint. It's sensual, gripping, and has a happily ever after that was well worth every bump in the road Josh and Miranda had to face to get there. Simply wonderful!

Raul Montenga and Penelope Gibson have a very long history including a drunken encounter at a wedding reception that neither is quite sure happened the way they remember. Penelope's daughter, Chloe, finally makes them both face up to facts and answer some burning questions.

Raul is the fire chief in town. He left RDC back in his twenties to get away from his overbearing father and the life his father laid out for him. He returned 10 years later after a tragedy and stayed. While he spends time with his family now, he's still a little disconnected. Raul has had dreams for years of Penelope, dreams he doesn't understand. Things become somewhat clearer when 10 year old Chloe knocks on his door one day.

Penelope is one of the town's only doctors. Despite coming home from college unwed and pregnant, she's held her head up high and is well respected in town. She knows she wouldn't have made it without her Mother's help which she is grateful for but she knows she let her very proper Mother down. She is a devoted mother to Chloe. She enjoys the company of her friends but pretty much avoids any other relationships.

Chloe is a bright, somewhat foul mouthed, daring girl who has no problems asking questions or telling people how she feels. She loves her mother fiercely but she is curious about the man that fathered her. The man that her mother never talks about at all.

Usually in books where there is an unplanned pregnancy that the mother never tells the father, it angers me. However, I never felt that way in this book. I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to spoil it but I will say there was a reason. It might have been a little weak, but it was plausible and I let it go. What I admire about this book is the fact that this little girl and her best friend pretty much figure things out which leads to Chloe confronting the man she thinks is her father and her mother as well. The relationship between Chloe and her mother really changes during this book. They both have to learn to give and trust each other a little more. In addition, the relationship between Raul and Penelope simmers, boils, fizzles, and then boils again. I love the fact that Raul really had Pen figured out and he would step back when needed to let her catch up. I also love that he went in with both guns blazing knowing exactly what he wanted. He didn't shy away from anything and given the situation, he could have really been a jerk. Then there are the outside family issues on both sides that create problems, some of which are really hard to excuse or overcome.

I can honestly say with Dee's books in addition to a good romance, she always makes you think. She addresses some issues that most people wouldn't find pleasant and she does it well. This book is a little "rawer" than her previous two books. The language is a little rougher and the sex scenes a little hotter. I'm totally not complaining, just a little warning. Dee's books always seem to take me by surprise. While some authors rely on a formula for their books, her style seems to change from book to book. This is not a bad thing; it's just different from most authors I read regularly and I applaud her for keeping me on my toes!

While I've enjoyed the other books in this series quite a bit, I really loved this book. I don't know if it's the "oops" pregnancy, the hero discovering what he'd always been missing, the heroine learning to live and love, or the ten year old "oops" stealing the scenes. This book is touching, amazingly funny, discusses some tough issues and prejudices, and yet evolves into a really great love story.
This was such a fun book. As a fan of the Rancho Del Cielo books I was thrilled to be reading Raul's story. Raul and Penelope's characters are phenomenal. The first thought that comes to mind to describe them are friendly combatants. But their relationship very quickly changes and becomes so much more. The sparks fly as the tempers rise and the passion heats up. Burn for Me is one hot, sexy and mesmerizing read that shouldn't be missed. This book is full of pages rich with desire, taut with tension and overflowing with passion. Chloe, Pen's daughter is a little spitfire and just as ornery as a child can be. She was adorable and added a lot of laughter to this book. The rest of the support characters are delightful and add a little extra special something to the story. I hope that Ms. Tenorio continues on with her Rancho Del Cielo books as they just keep getting better and better. This is one story and one series that should not be missed. Fans of this author and this series will not be disappointed with this story so go out and get a copy as soon as possible because you won't want to miss this one. - Jacquelyn R. Ward
